چکیده

Rice husk carbon (RHC) has been prepared from rice husk impregnated with 50% H3P04 and carbonised at 300°C. Its adsorption capacity has been tested for the decolourization of wastewater containing safranine and methylene blue. The effect of system variables such as concentration, temperature, pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage and particle size are investigated. Removal of dye has been found to increase with increase in dye concentration and pH of the solution. Kinetics of removal has been found to follow the first order rate expression. The adsorption isotherm data fitted both Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms. Thermodynamic studies show the adsorption to be an exothermic and spontaneous.

Removal of Methylene Blue from Waste Water Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Rice Husk

The possible utilization of rice husk activated carbon as an adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions has been investigated. In this study, activated carbons, prepared from low-cost rice husk by sulfuric acid and zinc chloride activation, were used as the adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue, a basic dye, from aqueous solutions. Effects of various experiment...

The Study of Kinetic and Biosorption of Pb Ion by Rice Husk from Wastewater

An agricultural waste i.e. rice husk has been used as a cheap adsorbent for the removal ofleadas a harmful heavy metal from contaminated water via adsorption. The adsorption capacity of rice husk was calculated by equilibrium models. The results showed that the adsorption process has the best accordance with Langmuir model. The kinetics of the adsorption was also investigated and obtained that ...

Removal of Surfactants from wastewater by Rice Husk

Surfactants are one of the major components (10- 18%) of detergents and household cleaning products and are used in high volumes in developed countries. In the present research work, the ability of rice husk as a low cost adsorbent for anionic and nonionic surfactants in wastewater has been studied. The maximum removal efficiency for anionic surfactants was 97%, in an aqueous solu...

Adsorption of Safranin-T from wastewater using waste materials- activated carbon and activated rice husks.

Textile effluents are major industrial polluters because of high color content, about 15% unfixed dyes and salts. The present paper is aimed to investigate and develop cheap adsorption methods for color removal from wastewater using waste materials activated carbon and activated rice husk-as adsorbents. The method was employed for the removal of Safranin-T and the influence of various factors s...
